I painted this original acrylic on wood canvas with an absolute outpouring of love as a special gift for my mom's 70th birthday. Because it was created during the height of the COVID lockdown, right here in my Edmonton, Alberta studio, I wanted to focus on themes of profound safety, family connection, and resilience during an isolating time.

Muladhara, also known as the Root Chakra, is the first primary chakra, energetically located at the base of the spine. In this spiritual artwork, I channeled its powerful frequency, which represents ultimate grounding, stability, and unshakeable security. Deeply associated with vibrant red hues and the grounding forces of the earth element, this chakra governs our basic physical needs, our deep ties to family, and our overall sense of safety in the world.

Furthermore, focusing on and opening the Root Chakra is historically believed to help in strengthening the physical immune system. As a local Canadian artist who deeply values the healing power of creativity, this root chakra painting remains one of my most personal pieces.. a visual anchor of protective, grounding energy that we all need.
